Yoga

Vinyasa | Yin | Slow Flow

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”

- Bhagavad Gita

For me, yoga is a practice of coming home to yourself, a practice of embodiment.

The style of yoga that I teach is very much about finding presence in your body at that moment. While alignment is necessary, my main focus is for you to experience the postures fully in the body. Yoga allows you to move, sweat and flow with your breath supporting you to switch off from the thinking head and return to the feeling body. The asanas guide  us to reconnect to ourselves so we can then be still, and just be. With every breath, every flow we learn to surrender to the present moment.

I adore Mel’s Saturday morning Vinyasa classes at Yoga Quarter. She’s incredibly friendly and the class isn’t too serious. There is always an emphasis on listening to your own body and making choices that serve you each time you show up to practice. It’s a fun, challenging flow and over time becomes a little more familiar that you can drop in and relax even more. Highly recommend!
